On the first anniversary of the passing of the great artist Esmat Dawastashy (1943-2025), a commemorative exhibition entitled "The Journey of the Enlightened Dada" was inaugurated on Tuesday evening, May 12, 2026, at the Mahmoud Said Museums Center in Alexandria, in cooperation with the Alexandria Syndicate of Fine Artists. The exhibition honors his prolific and creative artistic career.
It features approximately 90 artworks representing diverse stages of the late artist's creative journey, from his early beginnings to his later years.
The exhibition serves as a tribute to the late artist and an appreciation of his rich artistic contributions that spanned decades, showcasing aspects of his creative experience as one of the most prominent figures in Egyptian fine art.
The exhibition will run until June 12, 2026.
